JoVE Education | January 6 - May 13, 2024

EKU Libraries is pleased to announce an extended trial of JoVE Education. We already use JoVE resources to support biosciences, but this expansion will make JoVE's extensive library of videos available to students and faculty in a wider range of disciplines, such as engineering, nursing, chemistry, physics, and psychology.

JoVE videos are a valuable resource for both teaching and learning. They provide engaging demonstrations of lab equipment and methodologies, as well as clear visual presentations on key concepts and experiments.

Benefits of JoVE for Students:

  • Replicate experiments: JoVE videos provide step-by-step instructions for replicating experiments in the lab.
  • Visualize concepts: Complex scientific concepts are made easier to understand with the help of clear visuals and animations.
  • Learn at your own pace: Students can pause, rewind, and replay videos as needed to ensure they grasp the material.

Benefits of JoVE for Faculty:

  • Enhance existing curriculum: JoVE videos can be embedded in Blackboard to supplement lectures and readings.
  • Flip the classroom: Use JoVE videos to introduce new concepts before class, allowing for more interactive learning activities during class time.
  • Measure learning outcomes: Track student usage of JoVE videos to assess the effectiveness of this resource in your courses.
