Using the Library Search to Find Articles

Start at the EKU Libraries homepage (, or from, click the Libraries link:


Let’s say your research paper assignment requires that you find articles from peer-reviewed journals from the last five years.  

Enter two or three key concepts from your research question and click the Go button:



To limit to your results to the last five years, scroll down the left column and click the Last 5 Years radio button:



To limit your search to articles, go to the left column, and check the Article box:



Your results for this search include 409 articles, worldwide. If EKU Libraries does not have the article you want, you can request electronic delivery at no extra charge simply by clicking on the title, then clicking the blue Request Item button under Availability:



To limit your search to peer reviewed articles you can read right away online, again go to the left column and check the Full Text and Peer Reviewed boxes:




This search yielded 56 full text, peer reviewed (scholarly) articles published in the last five years. To read an article, click the grey Access online button:
