GENERAL INFORMATION

Print Score Call Numbers

  • Scores in the music library are organized by call numbers that begin with the letter M [Example: M1045.C77 A7 B6 1945 Appalachian Spring by Aaron Copland]
  • In general, as the call number gets higher the instrumentation gets larger [Example: M126 = Solo Guitar; M452 = String Quartet; M1001 = Symphony]
  • In addition, call numbers beginning with M1-M3 are special anthologies or complete works by specific composers, and can only be used within the library [Example: M2.M94512 no 13 The Music of the Byzantine Church]
