NFPA Codes

Fire Investigation Reports

Best Bet for FSE Research Project

Start with these resources to find information on your research project relating to a fire incident, famous fire, a code failure, or an inspection failure which led to a change in either the codes, change in laws, inspection process, etc. Do also do some Google searching, but evaluate sources you find there critically and carefully.

There are several different types of resources that might be applicable to historical research like this:

  • NFPA or NIST Investigation Reports
  • Primary sources such as newspaper articles, investigation reports, first-hand accounts, etc.
  • Secondary sources such as books and articles (scholarly and trade)
  • NFPA Codes

See the guide below for help with finding these.

Depending on your topic, there may be other recommended places to search.  Don't hesitate to contact me for a little (or a lot of) help!
