There is some confusion about primary sources vs original sources:
According to faculty there is a distinction between primary references (which are required across all nursing assignments) ...and.. original references/works (which would rarely be required and are not required in NSC 840).
If students can find a mix of an earlier and later work, it can be great to show evolution of the theory, but again is not required.
In other words, your sources DON'T have to be the first published statement of the theory by the theorist.
