Curious About Open Pedagogy?

by Christina Stallard on 2025-08-25T00:00:00-04:00 | 0 Comments

Imagine a class project where students create study guides for next year’s cohort, develop openly licensed media for the public, or contribute to a resource that scholars around the world can use. That’s the promise of open pedagogy—shifting from disposable assignments to work that makes an impact beyond the classroom.

This fall, the Open Education Network [https://open.umn.edu/oen] is hosting a facilitated learning circle with limited spots available for faculty interested in building open pedagogy projects and incorporating open practices into the classroom.  And the great thing is, you don’t have to change your entire course - you can start by re-designing just one assignment.

Schedule: Tuesdays, September 23 – November 4, 1:00–2:00 pm EST

Format: Seven synchronous sessions on Zoom

Application deadline: September 5

This is a supportive space to learn more about open pedagogy practices, connect with other invested faculty, and gain hands-on experience with renewable assignments and digital learning objects. To apply for this opportunity, fill out the OEN Open Pedagogy Learning Circle Application no later than Friday, September 5.
