Children's, Adolescent, & Young Adult Literature Research Guide

The Children’s Literature Assembly selects a committee of seven members to choose 30 books that best exemplify the criteria established for the Notables Award. The books considered for this annual list include works of fiction, nonfiction, and poetry written for children in grades K–8. This list features available titles in the LRC and includes the author and illustrator, a synopsis, recommended grade level, and call number.

Best STEM Books winners explore problems and possible solutions in the scientific world and, where applicable, in the lives of the protagonists. Instead of focusing on specific content, the Best STEM Books emphasize real-world issues that cross disciplinary boundaries. This list features available titles in the LRC and includes the author and illustrator, a synopsis, recommended grade level, and call number.

NSTA, in conjunction with the Children’s Book Council, is pleased to announce the list of Outstanding Science Trade Books for Students. Representing the best science trade books published in 2024 for students in kindergarten through 12th grade, the books featured on the list include captivating stories, compelling characters, and beautiful illustrations. This list features available titles in the LRC and includes the author and illustrator, a synopsis, recommended grade level, and call number.

Selected by the National Council of Teachers of English's Children's Literature Assembly.

Titles are chosen by a book review panel appointed by the National Science Teaching Association (NSTA) and assembled in cooperation with the Children's Book Council (CBC).

Mathical Book Prize is an annual award for fiction and nonfiction books that inspire children of all ages to see math in the world around them in coordination with National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM), National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE), and the Children's Books Council (CBC).
