On August 12, EKU Libraries offered faculty an opportunity to collaborate with librarians and colleagues to redesign their research assignments using best practices to boost student engagement and critical thinking during a pre-semester Research Assignment Design Workshop.
Led by librarians Heather Beirne, Cindy Judd, Brittany Davis, and Kayla Davidson, 21 workshop attendees learned about outdated research notions, incorporating AI into research, and using the TilLT method for assignment design. After applying this knowledge to iterate an existing assignment, they participated in a peer review process with fellow workshop attendees with support from librarian partners.
