EKU Libraries will feature books published by EKU faculty and staff at the EKU Authors Book Showcase as part of the annual Scholar’s Showcase events. The EKU Authors Book Showcase will take place on April 10th, from 1-2 p.m. in the John Grant Crabbe Main Library’s Grand Reading Room.

“With hundreds of EKU-authored books in our collection, it made sense to highlight the creative work of our faculty and staff,” said Dean of Libraries, Julie George. “Publishing a book should be celebrated, and the Library is excited to be a part of showcasing such excellence. This collection of EKU-authored books is an important representation of the intellectual output of our campus community, and it’s our goal to support our scholars at EKU.”

A few of the books in the collection include Gothic and Strange True Tales of the South by Keven McQueen, Susanna Craig’s Love and Let Spy romance series, War & Homecoming: Veteran Identity and the Post-9/11 Generation by Travis Martin and Kentucky Women: Their Lives and Times by Melissa McEuen, among many others.

Authors participating in the April 10 EKU Authors Book Showcase event will each have a table set up with their books, and the Library encourages the community to attend. Refreshments will be provided, and many authors will be providing sales for their books, as well. If you're an EKU author and wish to participate in the EKU Authors Book Showcase, please fill out this form.

From fiction novels to children’s stories to academic texts, books published within the last decade are featured in a permanent EKU Authors display in the Library’s Grand Reading Room. All other EKU-authored texts can be found in the main collection on the fourth floor of the Main Library and are identified with an EKU Author sticker. If you're an EKU author and would like to notify the Library of your publications, please complete this form

Featuring authors in the Showcase aligns with the Library’s mission to support its users in their pursuit of academic excellence and success. The Library also consistently partners with faculty to create open educational resources and open access textbooks, removing financial barriers for students and saving the university and EKU BookSmart program hundreds of thousands of dollars. Additionally, the Library provides course-embedded Library instruction, aiding instructors and their students in research assignments and information literacy.
