Eastern Kentucky University Libraries presented the 2019 Dick Mayo Allen scholarship to Jenna Price on September 6. Price has been working for the Library Advancement Office at EKU Libraries for three years. On a daily basis, Jenna is expected to complete a multitude of projects. Her project list ranges from simple errands such as a trip to the Printing Office, hanging signage around the Libraries, and writing event messages on whiteboards to more complex tasks such as working with lengthy spreadsheets of donor information, helping with Friends of EKU Libraries meetings and events, and assisting with content for Library social media accounts. "I've had the privilege of watching Jenna grow since she began working for us as a freshman student a few years ago. She has become a very detail-oriented employee who completes tasks quickly and efficiently. She represents EKU Libraries very well to the population of community members, Friends of EKU Libraries, faculty, staff, and students she interacts with regularly as part of her job," says Krista Rhodus, her former supervisor. Jenna is an Honors Program student who will graduate in May 2020 with a bachelor's in Environmental Health Science and a minor in Geography.
The Dick Mayo Allen Award is presented each year to honor an outstanding EKU Libraries' student employee. The Award includes a $500 scholarship and a plaque.
